AR, NIT Nagaland sign MoU for drone tech collaboration

Jalukie, November 7 (MExN): Assam Rifles' Drone Training Node under the Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), Jalukie, and the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a structured framework for collaboration in capacity building, training, research, technology development and other emerging technologies for academic and field applications.The partnership will focus on several areas, including joint basic and advanced training programmes, practical flight operations, maintenance procedures, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)-aligned certifications and periodic drone boot camps.Both institutions will also facilitate field exposure, collaborative utilisation of infrastructure, research validation and joint innovation initiatives.A Joint Steering Committee will be constituted to coordinate scheduling, resource allocation and curriculum planning to ensure effective implementation of the collaborative programmes.The partnership between the security forces and academia is aimed at promoting technological capabilities and innovation in areas such as border security, defence applications and regional technological advancement.
